The Rotorua tourist information center really has its act together with fabulous tours of surrounding areas. I signed up for a bus ride to this thermal wonderland and the driver ( a local ) walks with you to the first two stops – the mud baths and Lady Knox Geyer- with commentary and then brings you to the wonderland for two hours of free time to explore on your own. Well designed walkways take you along and through beautiful hot springs.
