Amsterdam is a great place to ditch the map and follow your nose to discover treasures not found in the guidebooks- like the flower mart of Singel Canal. And if you’ve wandered out of your comfort zone, there’s always a friendly face happy to set you back on your course – I particularly found the “10” somethings most helpful – all of them have an IPhone with google maps and seem thrilled that an adult is in need of their assistance for finding street locations!
