Situated on the shores of Lake Takapo, this church was designed with instruction that the site not be disturbed -all bushes and rocks were to be left right where they were. Stones for the church were to be taken from a radius of only five miles away and left unchipped in their natural condition. This is the fall scene – I’m told that in spring, the place is smothered in lupine.
