The British seem to be insistent on making mushy peas a side to fish and chips – it may be one of the reasons English food gets a bad rap – there’s contenders like scotch egg, black pudding, bubble and squeak, marmite and spotted dick that could support the argument….but how could the inventors of Yorkshire pudding or scones with clotted cream be all that bad?
