or so I was told when talking to a couple who were leaving Amboise just as I was arriving….they were offering up the highlights of their stay to help me firm up my itinerary. They were about my age and chased bands throughout Europe ( best concert in their mind, BTW, was Dire Straits) Needless to say, I differ – the landscaped gardens alone are vastly different at each estate – but people’s perceptions always tickle me
