Lush plains are punctured by giraffe’s patchwork heads as they bend to munch yellow-barked acacias. Benny tells me that the top photographic animals are giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and hippos…and he indulged me on my mission to capture them all on film up close and personal. I asked him who decided these groups were the camera darlings – why for example, lions or elephants weren’t included- he reminded me that you can’t believe everything you hear…Benny was always covering his tracks in more ways than one.
