one of the things I found helpful was a free city guide the first or second day I arrived somewhere for a general overview of the area. The tour is free with an expectation that you tip the guide at end of it with $$ that indicate what you think it was worth. This one got everything I had in my wallet. But I may have been a little rash – I asked him what his favorite restaurant was for authentic Granada cuisine and he told me of a cafe where I couldn’t go wrong… that evening when I opened the menu and looked at the main entrees I realized you can, in fact, go wrong – listed: kidneys in sherry; tripe Spanish style; testicles fried; fried brain; and marinated deer. I wasn’t feeling experimental so made a quick dash out the door and wandered a bit to find Parole – the BEST Italian restaurant – now there’s where you can’t go wrong – pasta!
