this is one of the oldest wineries in Italy and was a stopping off point for the Romans on their way to England. Some lovely reds were served with local cheeses and meats. I happened to sit next to a man from Florida and his wife who was born and raised in China. As he waxed on about the various restaurants they had eaten at, I asked him what his most memorable meal had been. He told me it was lard topped with a sardine which his wife had encouraged him to try. He then leaned over and whispered in confidence…”she’s Chinese…they eat everything.”
