this lamb stewed with a combination of raisins, figs, apricots, and almonds melted in the mouth. It is based on a 13th century recipe made for sultans. It’s served at a restaurant called Matbah by a chef who researched what the elite were eating in the 13th and 14th centuries and re-created the meals for a menu that is spectacular. If you find yourself in Istanbul, I highly recommend a stop at this dining establishment.
