From the 1460’s to the completion of Dolmabahce Palace in 1856, this place served as the administrative center of the Ottoman Empire. This is a picture of the Harem located inside which has more than 300 rooms, nine baths, two mosques, a hospital and laundry all beautifully decorated in exquisite tile work.
