legend has it that the beautiful daughter of a king fell in love and ran away with a shepherd boy. Her furious father disowned her however when she had her first child, she thought she might be forgiven and attempted to return home. The king, hearing the news, instead ordered her death. She prevailed upon the gods to protect her family by turning them into stone to avoid a murderous ending. So stands the trio today in this rock formation.
