This temple is divided into two parts – the southern is dedicated to Sobek who is considered the creator god and master of the universe. On this side is a scared chamber where live crocodiles were well taken care of as it was believed they carried a a portion of the divine essence of Sobek. In the museum next door several mummified crocodiles are on display from this period. On the other side of the temple Horace, Sobek’s brother is worshipped.
