She probably manages a home with two rooms used as sleeping areas, a long, outdoor porch for visiting and prepares meals in a separate kitchen off the porch. Furnishings probably include mats and blankets, a low table for eating and a few pots and dishes for cooking and eating. If she and her husband need help with thatching a roof or something else the two have them can’t do on their own, they’ll call on their neighbors for an organized day of work and provide a meal at its conclusion that might include a chicken or duck for smaller projects- a pig or small ox for larger ones….and plenty of homemade rice liquor.
