another stop on the Mekong River includes Pak Ou Caves – home to thousands of buddhas in all sizes and shapes. According to legend, a monk had a vision for thousands of radiant buddhas on this face cliff which inspired him to excavate the caves below. Since then, Laos people make pilgrimages to the caves and leave their statues after praying for a blessing.
