This is the best way to get from Jaisalmer to Udaipur as there are no direct flights or trains from city to city. You board at 6pm and have this “cabin” to stretch out in until you arrive at 4:30 am the next morning….while I don’t know if I’d travel this way again, I’m really glad I kept Udaipur in my itinerary. This city is located around azure lakes hemmed in by lush green hills and accented with the architectural beauty of magnificent white palaces. It also felt like the most upscale of the cities in Rajasthan – compared to others, it’s much cleaner – you still have stray dogs, some feral pigs, and of course cows but they don’t dominate the streets.
