there are two main areas to Kochi – the old Fort Kochi area where European colonialism is still evident with churches and old homes and the area known as Mattancherry. If you can get a local to take you around in a tuk tuk, you’ll be introduced to members that make up the community – women and men who work at the village “laundromat”; fish peddlers, bread, candle, and spice makers plus a variety of shop keepers – my kind of tour.
