This is the driveway up to Batch winery on Waiheke and sitting on a perch there enjoying a 360 view of New Zealand is pretty spectacular. My last stop was at Cable Bay where I had a sommelier from Argentina all to myself. He allowed me to stay way past their closing time of 5 pm which, I realized after departing, past the scheduled times for a bus pick up. No worries, as they say here, I waited for the next car to go by, waved for it to pull over and a young woman named Brie from Wisconsin stopped to take me to the ferry in time to catch it back to Auckland!
