While in the Lake District, I stumbled on to a path that led me into a sheep pasture. Because it is spring, the field was filled with baby lambs I felt compelled to photo. I was startled by the chuckle of a kindly gentleman who had come up from behind me who paused to ask, “how do you get those sheep to pose for you like that?” I replied “because they’re not sheep, they’re hams!” Proof positive that the countryside and nature often provide a charitable habitat where even the witless are appreciated as this prompted an invitation to tea. Unfortunately, I had forgotten to put my teeth in that morning and had to pass on a spring fling with an ol’ goat of a different variety.
