Chimps share 98.7 DNA of humans! When you arrive at the park you receive a great orientation that includes a warning that it can take up to 4 hours to find a chimp. We were divided into groups of six and assigned a tracker. Again – luck seemed to be my companion in Africa as I believe we got the top tracker. She spotted this guy in about 20 minutes at the top of a tree and told us to be still and wait as it was likely he’d come down for more food. As she predicted, about 15 minutes later he climbed down and sat in this position for quite awhile – just about 2 feet from where we were standing.
