I often found myself being trailed by Egyptian children who, when I acknowledged them, shyly asked if they could practice speaking their English with me… which I agreed to do if they gave me a couple of dollars. Kidding! It was adorable. There is something wonderfully courteous about most young people here. For example, I was standing at a very busy street trying to figure out how to cross it to get to my hotel when this young boy ran over to me and took my hand and walked me across. Amazing! PS the trolley you see in the picture is a little over 100 years hold – they have newer ones but these old ones still run just fine!
