Dinant is close to the southern border of France and is famous for being the hometown of the man who created the saxophone. Beautiful buildings straddle a river that runs through its center and the town’s historic fort offers panoramic views of the surrounding valley. What I found particularly memorable were the breakfast buffets at the place I stayed – meat, cheese, cereal, tomato, yogurt, pastries, jam, butter, fruit and eggs prepared to your liking. With french pressed coffee of course. And fresh squeezed orange juice. That’s something to blow your horn over.
