Ad Deir Monastery – worth the jeep ramble over rocky washed out roads, climb up ancient stairway via a donkey, and hike along a cliff edge to finally turn the corner and see this….chiseled by the Nabateans 2,000 years ago, it’s the tallest stone facade in Petra and as awe inspiring as the Treasury in my opinion with the added plus that its remote location keeps the crowds away….
